We are proud to announce that we have been awarded a five-year Schedule 66 contract with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the procurement arm of the federal government. Through this agreement, federal customers will be able to purchase Separation Methods Technologies, Inc. (SMT) products through a standardized procurement process, which will reduce costs, risks and improve customer service.
SMT manufactures a variety of silica based products including HPLC (Reversed-Phase, Normal Phase, Ion-Exchange, Specialty) columns (UHPLC, analytical, semi-prep and prep) and bulk packing materials for large-scale purification. Our novel, patented and proprietary, National Science Foundation awarded, Total Coverage technology utilizes advanced Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAM) to achieve bonded phase coverages that approach 100%. Our method of bonding allows the density of the functional ligands to be controlled with appropriate spacer molecules, a procedure that ensures highly cross-linked polysiloxane under layer structure. The results are bonded phases that are well protected and that show unprecedented resistance to both acid and base hydrolysis. Overall, our columns and packing materials are known to challenge many of our competitors in reusability, high and low pH tolerance and batch-to-batch reproducibility.
The GSA Schedule 66 award is the schedule under which governmental agencies purchase equipment and services that, according to the government’s website related to laboratory testing and analysis, scientific and medical research, public safety, electrical and electronic parameter analysis, and geophysical and environmental analysis.
SMT products are now available through the GSA Advantage Website.
